a little more of an update

doesn’t look like the glorious picture of the cup was enough. so here is a couple more details on how life is. well, i am eating mushy stuff that can slide right down, like eggs, oatmeal, mac and cheese (spiral of course) and loads of jamba juice (if anyone needs advice on flavors i have tried a lot of them) it seems to have helped a ton to have actual food going down and not broth and liquids. i get full super fast. my goal is to try to get down 800 calories…i never thought i would say this but…that is way hard. because of my lack of appetite i have lost 14 pounds and it seems it isn’t stopping. i liked the 1st 10 coming off…but i hope the other pounds come back once i start eating more normally. i get more and more feeling in my face everyday. i have part of my chin and bottom lip still kinda numb and part of my nose still numb. i don’t think they will stay that way because i get tinglings in those areas. it feels like when your foot falls asleep…doesn’t really hurt…but kinda annoying. i am totally off hardcore drugs since last thursday….which i think also has helped me get better. so thats good. i am now bored out of my mind sitting around all day, but i am still weak…my doctor keeps telling me to be patient because i lost a ton of blood during the surgery and it takes time for your body to make it. i just have never been the sit around type of girl so i am a little flustered. i have a major lisp because of all the rubberbands in my mouth, but at least people seem to understand me. i think the thing i want most is to be able to smile again. here are some pics….my mother insists she sees the new me. what you think? thanks to everyone who has been super nice and concerned and made me feel so not worthy because of all the kindness. it is really nice to hear from everyone. peace friends heidi lynn

Wow, you look amazing. As my husband would say, you look beautiful no matter what. You inner heart is far greater than you outward appearance. I am glad you are starting to eat. Trust me you need the calories and the input. There were some great movies that came out today – The Other Boyln Girl and the Bucket List. You could be like me and watch too much of the Lifetime channel. I think since school is out, I manage two Lifetime movies a day. :) Are you going to be up and running for Totally T – or do you have a sub??

sorry to read about the side effects; i hope you’ll get better soon though and show us your pretty smile; i also hope you’ll get your healthy appetite back soon, too

Heidi, you look so beautiful in the new photos. There is such a dramatic change- obviouosly worth everything you have gone through from the syringe to the cup and now the spiral mac and cheese!

Wow! It’s amazing what a few days and a little make-up do to make a huge difference. You look beautiful, Heidi. I wish I were there to see you drool a Jamba Juice. I am glad you can eat. I wish I only wanted to eat 800 calories. But, dieting by death is not really fun. Good luck. Thanks for posting your picture updates. I have been so worried about you. You look fabulous dahling.
Love,
Aunt Rosemary

You are a TOTAL trophy wife! Ow ow!!
Seriously, you’ve always been a beauty in my book, but to look that good this soon after such a big surgery…you are stunning! Holy Smokes, Heidi! WOW!! What a difference a day makes, huh? Hope you feel much better real soon!!

i’m amazed. Just know, though, that jaym’s swelling wasn’t all gone for almost a year! So it will be fun to watch you be a transformer. You’re beautiful.

You look great! Im glad to see that you are feeling better! Hopefully you’ll be back to 100% soon!!! Cya in SeptembeR!!

Ha ha, the mac n cheese (spiral of course) made me laugh! Than’s me too! My husband laughs at me for it :) Girl, you are HOTT with 2 T’s! Seriously, you look amazing! It looks like you are handling things well. I wish you a continued speedy recovery! Love ya!

Heidi, you look wonderful already! We went through this, or similar, with two of our kids. It really takes a long time to fully get your muscles and face working normally, as well as loose all the puffiness. You already look great, but it will just get better. It takes a while to accept the new you as the real you. But you will be thrilled. Hopefully, it solves all the issues it is supposed to. Soon your strength and appetite will be back, too. We love you and are glad the surgery went so well, at last.

Your Mom is right…(of course!) the new you is starting to show through. Hang in…it only gets better from here. They say 3 weeks is the turning point. and you are almost there. More beautiful than ever.

Wow! I see the difference . . . amazing for sure! Liked the “before” Heidi and I like the “after” Heidi. My Grandma use to say, “Different cover, same book”. Big thing is that you are feeling better. Enjoy (okay that isn’t the best word) being home and recouperating . . . the time will speed up and you’ll be back to being crazy busy all too soon.

heidi, you looked a.maz.ing today!!! seriously, i did not expect to see you lookin so good! i hope the healing keeps coming as fast as it has been! we miss at the store!!!

You look amazing. I am so proud of you. I can’t even imagine all the pain soreness that accompanies a surgery of this kind. Good luck with your recovery.
Luv ya
Loraine

Hi Heidi. You look so pretty! I met you at the first Creative Escape and faithfully follow your Blog. I give you a lot of credit for going through the surgery. It seems like the worse is over. You look just beautiful. Keep doing what the doctors say. Take it easy too.
