so i started my second quilt last night. i was very fortunate to get a jellyroll (”oz” from moda) for my birthday. i didn’t realize how absolutely amazing that gift was. almost no cutting…hallar! here is my first square…and i would like to point out…it is a perfect 12″ square…i know…impressive.

so cute! i can’t finished the rest of the squares until i get some things off my plate…but friday is looking pretty good.

what is biggest on my plate is my birthday themed scrapbook class…now i have had these hanging up in the store for 2 weeks…and was suppose to take a picture of them last night…but forgot my camera…hate…anyways…i did take a color copy…not near as good..but at least peeps can get the point. here are the 2 layouts.

and that weird 8.5×11 yellow gross color is actually a really cute green…

here is what i am most excited about…is the birthday calendar…that we are making in class…i even made a couple extra kits to sell…

it is nice because you can just write in the names for all the important birthdays…way fun…

So i feel like i am officially old…my younger brother kevin left on his mission yesterday. he was called to serve in the california LA, spanish speaking. we dropped him off at the airport yesterday, and i was totally fine until he starting crying.

kevin will be the best missionary. he was so ready…

we will miss his random thoughts and comments around the dinner table, his HUGE heart and even bigger smile…but are so proud of his choice. LA you are SOOO lucky.

also i thought i mention that i am teaching this class on tuesday. you can put up to 9 hooks on the board…and i will have a whole alpha for sale so you can switch the name on it to match whoever’s birthday it is. It would be so killer to put up on each family member’s birthday.

so i am thinking i am pathetic at blogging lately…I have just become obsessed with a new hobby…besides loving to scrap attack…i have picked up sewing…and it has become a little obsessive…i took the beginning quilting class at the store and….here it is…quilting friends…don’t look to close…but for my first go…i am pretty proud…it is the size of a twin bed and was made for miss stella lynn.

it was so fun…i am already signed up for march’s quilt…and i have bought my fabric…there are a biggillion cute new fabrics in at the store…but i settled on this from moda because it will match my family room so well.

because of this new found love i am also signed up for a really cute pin cushion class and a purse class. and for my birthday last saturday…my boy named paul and mother dearest hooked me up with sewing and quilting supplies…so excited!

also…i have sneaked fabric and felt into my class tomorrow…here are some projects that we are doing…first 4 are what we are actually doing in class (1st page of the double page spreads…it is all spring for the theme notice the easter and the flowers…love…so if you have time tomorrow you should sign up…i have about 6 spaces left.

the pinwheel flower and felt flower are so easy…can’t wait to show you…

whew…holidays officially over…it seemed as soon as i finished something, another 5 somethings would pile on. i love christmas…but holy hannah…plus the start of a new year for my church calling is a ton of work…so many primary lists for all those cute kids in my ward kept me a little busy…but the first week went off without too many hiccups.

so i think a little catching up is due. first things first…my adorable stella lynn in her christmas dress.

i know…she is probably the cutest baby you have ever seen…she is 6 months now…a wild woman…and we just found 2 teeth poking through…it is so true…they grow up so fast.

another new thing that i am starting today…SEWING! i am taking a quilting class starting tonight with Louise Haley…(an amazing teacher/quilter.) she is teaching at sb etc now and my mother dearest knowing my huge want to be domesticated got me the classes as a christmas gift. so i have dusted off the sewing machine that i have never used in the 2 years of ownership and going tonight. look at my cute fabric that i got at the store…we have so many new cute ones it was hard to pick…but i went with this new amy butler midwest modern as the main part and then just picked some of my faves in other lines with the same color scheme…love it! i am a little nervous but it will be fun regardless because all of my sisters and mom will be there.

i am also teaching some new classes…no more totally t…i needed a breath of fresh air so i have decided to teach a class called totally paper crafting…very much like totally t…but i am not limited to pages…though admittedly they are the main thing in the class…if you go to www.scrapbooks-etc.com you can see the whole new schedule including the sewing classes!

i am also teaching some more big page classes here is the one coming up on this thursday…it is the 10×20 and it is for your creative area. you can pick between the blue, pink or red color schemes…and if you want to switch out the word to be a name you can! it would look so fun in a girl’s room.

also i am starting to put extra kits for sale on my etsy store…those will start going up on friday. so if you too far from scrapbooks etc. you can still purchase the kits through there…though nothing is as good as coming to class.

so i was doing my blog stocking earlier, and clicked on Scrapbooks Etc.’s website and read up on the awesome sales starting thursday (yes turkey day) night. the store will be open from 6-9pm and there is a major sale 20% of your entire purchase and 25% off one item + Santa will be there for the kids. strange you may say…but think about it, what do you do thanksgiving night when everything is closed. then black friday they are having a reverse sale where it gets better the later you shop instead of the earlier…that way you can hit up the mall in the morning and then come to the scrapbook store in the evening…works perfectly. if you want more details click on the scrapbooks etc. link..they have it all on their website.

so life is crazy during the holidays isn’t it. it seems with everything in life…it all comes at one time. which is neither convenient or fun…but totally worth it in the end.

so stella was a pumpkin for halloween…sydney kept calling her pun’kin (my 2 year old niece)…way cute. here is a shot of her..

she has been so much fun…laughing and smiling…she has def. got her personality…a little stubborn and determined (wonder where she gets that) here are some more fun shots…
